It’s perfectly alright to buy an S4 V8, timing chain issues at all as long as you follow these steps;
Buy S4 V8 Avant
Have fun
Burnouts at automatch’s house
Timing chain breaks
remove Audi V8
Install LS7 and matching six speed
Keep driving
What chain?

PUSHROD MASTER RACE

Viper v10 wouldn't fit probably. LS is best bet.

That’s too proudy for an S4 Avant.

GTFO with your 1930s technology.

Hope it’s not an early LS7, because if it is, congrats! You dropped timing chain issues for “oiling”(valve train destroying itself) issues!

What chain?
This chain.

It will fit in a Saab that is normally transversly mounted, I think it will fit in this. Remember, this also has the LS’s claim to fame about being a pushrod engine, so it’s relatively small.

9. Make swap kit
10. Profit on Audi forums

If you installed the LS7’s matching 6-speed, it would not be either.

Overhead cam engines were invented before pushrods. So... technically, the Audi is the one with the 1930s technology.
